A release issued by 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister in London, said that the talks between the two leaders were warm and both agreed to meet in person.
The conversation came shortly after Trump told reporters he thought Starmer had done a “very good job” so far. “The Prime Minister praised President Trump for his role in delivering the historic ceasefire and hostage release agreement in Gaza,” a Downing Street spokesman said.
“The (US) President welcomes the release of British-Israeli hostage Emily Damari and sends best wishes to her family,” the spokesperson said. They discussed the importance of working together for security in West Asia.” Trump expressed condolences to Starmer and expressed sadness over his brother’s death. At the same time, Starmer congratulated Trump for the beginning of his tenure on January 20. Starmer’s brother died last month.
