Foreigners also increased attraction, about 23 lakh foreign tourists visited Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow. The popularity of ‘Yogi Ke UP’ is continuously increasing among tourists. The data released by Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is evidence of this. The number of tourists visiting the state has registered an increase of about 17 crores in the year 2024 as compared to 2023. The special thing is that the attraction of UP has increased in the country as well as abroad. There has been an increase of about 07 lakhs in the number of foreign tourists in a year.
Jayveer Singh, Minister of Tourism and Culture of Yogi government, said that Uttar Pradesh has immense potential for tourism. Continuous efforts are being made to put it on the ground. Since 2022, the state has remained the first choice of domestic tourists. The arrival of foreign tourists is also a priority to achieve this feat.

About 17 crore tourists increased in a year
According to Tourism Minister Jayveer Singh, a total of 64,90,76,213 tourists came to Uttar Pradesh in the year 2024, while in 2023 a total of 48,01,27,191 tourists had come. Thus, a total of 16,89,49,022 increased in a year. Last year 22,69,067 foreign tourists came, while in 2023 there were 16,01,503 foreign tourists. Thus, an increase of about 6,67,564 has been recorded in the number of foreign tourists in a year.
Ayodhya-Kashi, Mathura-Prayagraj also made unprecedented growth
The Tourism Minister informed that after Shri Ramlala sits in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, there has been a rapid increase in the number of tourists in Ayodhya. A total of 16,44,19,522 devotees arrived there in the year 2024, while in the year 2023 the number was 5,75,70,896. Thus, there has been an increase of 10,68,48,626 in a year. In Kashi, 110097743 pilgrims came to Kashi in the year 2024, while in 2023 a total of 101867618 pilgrims arrived. Thus, there has been an increase of 82,30,125 in the number of tourists. 90081788 pilgrims arrived in Mathura this year, while 77927299 pilgrims arrived in the year 2023. Thus there has been an increase of 1,21,54,489. 51262806 tourists came to Prayagraj in the year 2024, while 50671622 tourists arrived in the year 2023. Thus the number of 591,184 tourists increased.
Most foreign tourists came to Agra
Agra finished first in the year 2024 in the arrival of foreign tourists. A total of 1,77,75,561 tourists came here, with 14,65,814 foreign tourists. A total of 1100977743 devotees came to Varanasi, of which 309932 tourists were foreigners. Similarly, a total of 2242913 tourists came to Kushinagar, with 2,51,251 foreign tourists. A total of 90081788 pilgrims came to Krishna Nagari Mathura in the year 2024, with 136079 foreign tourists. A total of 16,44,19,522 pilgrims arrived in Ayodhya, of which 26,048 are foreign tourists.
