The Kotwali police station in Saharanpur district has recovered a smack worth Rs 50 lakh from three alleged narcotics smugglers, including a woman, after which he was arrested. The police gave this information on Thursday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Nagar) Vyom Bindal said that the accused belonged to the same family and they used to smuggle smack from Bareilly and sell it at a high price. He said that on the basis of a secret information, a police team raided a house in Noor Basti and recovered 415 grams of smack, Rs 6,140 cash and packaging material after which Mustafa, Bhura and Nawabo were arrested.
Bindal said that the gang leader is still absconding and efforts are on to catch it. During interrogation, the accused admitted that their family was involved in the drug business for a long time. He said that a case has been registered against him.
