The Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Akal Takht strongly criticized the Haryana government for repeated parole to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and described it as an insult to Sikhs and a threat to justice. Singh accused the government of behaving the convict criminals as a second -class citizen with Sikhs, allowing the Sikhs to be in jail for decades despite completing their sentence. Repeated release of the Dera chief by the government for political reasons is ending the trust in the law. He said that Sikh prisoners are behind bars, a person convicted of rape and murder is being given parole several times.

Jathedar said that this behavior is isolating the Sikhs in their own country, which is shameful for India’s democracy. He reminded that the Sikhs have made significant sacrifice for India’s independence and should not be misbehaved. Ram Rahim, who was serving a 20 -year sentence in two rape cases, was given parole for a month on Tuesday. The parole is given before the Delhi assembly elections to be held on 5 February.

Comes out before election
Baroda by -election: On 20 October 2020, one day parole was received to meet the mother. The by -election was held in November 2020.
Punjab Vis election: 21 days parole was received before the Punjab Assembly elections in February 2022.
Rajasthan Vis Election: On 25 November 2023, 21 days parole was received before the Rajasthan assembly elections.
Lok Sabha elections: Lok Sabha elections held on 25 May 2024. Ram Rahim got 50 days of parole on 19 January.
Haryana Vis Election: On 13 August 2024, Ram Rahim got a 21 -day furrow.
Haryana Vis Election: On 2 October 2024, Ram Rahim received a conditional emergency parole of 20 days, while on October 5 there was assembly elections in the state.
