Supporters of independent MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav protested in Patna under ‘Bihar Bandh’ on Sunday to protest against alleged irregularities in the joint preliminary examination recently conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), leading to protests in the state capital. Traffic was disrupted in many areas.

Yadav’s supporters sat on the road near Dak Bungalow intersection in Patna and tried to disrupt the movement of vehicles. The Lok Sabha member claimed that the bandh has the support of Azad Samaj Party leader Chandrashekhar Azad. Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said, ‘Adequate security personnel have been deployed at various places in the city to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. At present the situation is completely under control.
