The Election Commission officially granted ‘recognized political party’ status to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party. The party made this announcement on social media platform X on Wednesday. The party now has the permanent official election symbol of the party, “Glass Glass”, which has been reserved by the ECI. The Jana Sena party revealed that the communication about the recognition was made through a letter on Tuesday.

It said Pawan Kalyan’s struggle for more than a decade culminated in the Jana Sena Party being accepted as a recognized political party.

This is a first for Jana Sena Party. Till now, it was registered as a political party only in Andhra Pradesh. Now in March 2014, 10 years after its establishment, it has been recognized as a state political party. Jana Sena achieved this recognition by achieving 100 percent success in recent elections: both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. It won all 21 constituencies in the state and the two Lok Sabha constituencies it contested.
