Shamli On Tuesday, a courageous encounter led by STF Meerut in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh shocked the entire state. In this encounter, brave Inspector Sunil Kumar of STF Meerut team lost his life while showing indomitable courage. In this war against miscreants, four notorious criminals were killed on the spot. But due to serious injuries sustained by Inspector Sunil Kumar in this struggle, he died in Medanta Hospital.
Echo of bullets and elimination of miscreants
This encounter took place on the Bidoli-Haryana border in Jhinjhana police station area of Shamli. The STF team conducted a strategic operation, in which the miscreants opened fire for about 30 minutes. STF displayed their bravery and killed notorious criminals Arshad, Manjeet, Sandeep and an unknown criminal.

This gang of criminals was being run by criminals like Mukin Kala and Mustafa alias Kagga. This gang was notorious for committing serious crimes like robbery, murder and extortion. Among these, a reward of Rs 1 lakh was also announced on Arshad.
Inspector Sunil Kumar became an example of bravery
Inspector Sunil Kumar’s contribution in this operation was invaluable. He was leading the team of STF Meerut. During the operation, he was hit by two bullets in the stomach, which caused serious damage to his liver and blood vessels. He was immediately taken to Karnal Hospital in Haryana and then admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram as his condition deteriorated.
Doctors tried to save his life for 36 hours, but he lost the battle of life due to serious injuries.
Martyr’s martyrdom honored
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Inspector Sunil Kumar. He announced that financial assistance of ₹50 lakh would be given to Sunil Kumar’s family. Apart from this, a government job will be provided to a member of their family and a road in their village or district will also be named after them.
The Chief Minister said, “Brave police officers like Sunil Kumar are the pride of our police force. His bravery will always be remembered. The state government stands with his family in every situation.”
A mountain of sorrow fell on the family
Inspector Sunil Kumar was a resident of Mussoorie village of Incholi in Meerut district. He is survived by his wife Munesh, son Manjeet alias Monu, and daughter Neha. Sunil, who joined the police service in 1990, joined STF in 2009. There is a wave of mourning not only in the family but in the entire village due to his martyrdom.
His elder brother Anil Kakran does farming. Family members say that Sunil Kumar always considered his duty paramount. His bravery and commitment made the entire village proud.

All the miscreants killed in this operation had many serious cases registered against them like murder, robbery, dacoity and extortion. The slain criminals had been a headache for the police for a long time. This successful operation has worked to break the morale of criminals in the area.
