Ambikapur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that Naxalism is now taking its last breath and soon Bastar will be completely Naxal free. Sai hoisted the national flag on the occasion of Republic Day and took the salute of the joint parade. Sai said, “The responsibility of protecting and preserving the heritage of this republic lies in the hands of us and the future generations. Our republic teaches us the lesson of Satyamev Jayate. This aphorism from Mundakopanishad tells us that no matter how dense the darkness is, we should not lose hope. We have seen the victory of this spirit of our republic in the severely Naxal affected areas.”
He said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have worked to destroy the cancer of Naxalism by making a new strategy. To destroy this cancer, it was necessary to attack its roots. “Our soldiers attacked the most secure hideouts of the Naxalites.” The Chief Minister said that the results of the operation were very good and within a year, more than 260 Naxalites were killed.
He said, “With freedom from terrorism, the path of development has also opened in the Naxal-affected areas of Bastar. The medium for this has become ‘Niyad Nella Naar Yojana’ run by our government. After a long time, bells rang in schools, adequate arrangements for water and electricity were ensured.” Sai said, “While fighting Naxalism, many soldiers sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country so that we can remain safe and peace can be established in the society. I deeply salute the martyrdom of these soldiers.”
Sai said that the ‘double engine’ government is not only providing fair prices to the farmers for their crops but is also working to improve farming. Now pesticides are being sprayed in the fields by the hands of ‘Drone Didi’. The Chief Minister said that the new industrial policy has created a better investment environment in the state. He said, “Our land is rich in mineral wealth. Chhattisgarh is incomparable in terms of mineral wealth. We rank second in the country in the production of coal and iron. We have 20 percent of the country’s bauxite reserves. The whole world is adopting electric vehicles and India is also not lagging behind in this.”
Sai said, “Lithium is required for batteries of electric vehicles and its reserves are in our Korba, Sukma and Bastar districts. Our government has done historic work to fulfill the need to exploit these mineral resources for the economic development of the state.” The Chief Minister said that transparency in recruitment processes is one of the top priorities of our government. He said that we have entrusted the task of investigating corruption in PSC examinations to CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and CBI is taking concrete action in this matter. Sai said that the state government has decided to conduct it on the lines of UPSC to bring transparency in the PSC exam. He said, “Our government is such a government which, after completion of one year, presented its report card to the people of the state. We have good intentions. It is the truth. There is honesty and there is strength that comes from the tradition of ancestors. We will move forward with the cooperation of all of you and overcome every obstacle and fulfill our dream of a bright, strong and developed Chhattisgarh.
