Russia claims to capture the important city of Eastern Ukraine

Russian soldiers have captured a city strategically important of Eastern Ukraine as part of their campaign to weaken the catch of Kiev at Ukraine’s industrial center. Russia claimed this on Sunday.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced the capture of Velika Novosilka. The city had a population of around 5,000 before the war. However, this statement of Russia could not be independently confirmed.

Ukraine claimed that his military had returned from only a few areas, taking strategic steps. If the occupation of the city is confirmed, Velika Novosilka will be the first important city that Russia has captured in 2025 amidst Russia attacks in the Eastern Doonsk region.

The war between Russia and Ukraine will complete three years in February. Ukraine’s ‘110th Separate Mechanized Brigade’ said in a statement on its official Telegram channel on Sunday that the Ukrainian army has retreated from parts of Velika Novosilka to avoid siege.
