Like every time in the election riots of Delhi, this time too different parties are making waves, but the real contest is only between three parties. In a bid to woo voters ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has announced a big promise of providing free bus travel to students if his party comes back to power. The announcement comes amid a series of freebies aimed at strengthening AAP’s voter base ahead of the elections. While holding a press conference, Arvind Kejriwal said that if our government is formed again in Delhi, we will provide concessions in Delhi Metro and free travel in buses for the students studying in schools and colleges.
The country will move forward only when it studies. There are many poor children who miss out on education because they do not have money to go to school and college. So the biggest announcement I am making is that if our government is formed, students will also be given free bus travel. Right now women have free bus travel. Inside Delhi we see that a lot of students use the metro. Metro is the lifeline of Delhi and metro has become very expensive. A common student finds it difficult to afford it. Metro is a Fifty Fifty venture of Delhi Government and Central Government. Profits and losses are shared in equal amounts. Capital investment also Fifty is fifty shares. I have written a letter to the Prime Minister that students should be given 50 percent discount in metro fare. The expenses that will be incurred in handing over the state will be shared between the Delhi government and the central government. Share Fifty Fifty Percent.
