A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) constable allegedly committed suicide in Assam’s Darrang district. An official provided this information on Wednesday. The SSB jawan of Bejpara Shyamabari camp was found hanging by the local people in a room of the nearby water supply complex on Wednesday morning.
“They immediately informed the police,” the officer said. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Sharma, a resident of Bihar and was part of the GD 37 battalion of the SSB.”
Police said that the body of the constable has been sent to Mangaldai Civil Hospital for post-mortem, although the exact reason for his alleged suicide is not yet known. The officer said he was on leave and had joined duty on Monday and further investigation was underway.
