The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over Delhi Police’s claim that a Class 12 student, who was recently caught for issuing bomb threats to over 400 schools in the city, Was associated with an NGO. Delhi Police also claims that the NGO had raised its voice in support of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. However, no political party was named in it. At a press conference, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that AAP has “deep ties” with NGOs that have protested against Afzal Guru’s hanging. Delhi Police has revealed important details while investigating the fake bomb email sent to over 400 schools, which caused widespread anxiety among students and disrupted classes. Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Madhup Tiwari revealed on January 14 that after extensive forensic and technical investigation, a child was identified as the sender of these emails. Police said the investigation faced challenges due to the use of a VPN, which hid the origin of the emails.

Tiwari said that we conducted a thorough investigation, sought data from email providers, and prepared a profile of the family. The investigation revealed that the child sent mass emails, which in one instance included messages to 250 schools simultaneously. However, the police suspect the involvement of some larger conspiracy. The police officer said that given the advanced technical methods used, it seems impossible that the child did this alone. Officials investigating the case are looking into possible links to an NGO associated with the child’s family, which had earlier voiced opposition to the hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
