Agency, New Delhi. The 15 -member Team India has been announced for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Now former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has questioned the inclusion of Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal in the team.
According to Harbhajan, not being included in the team, especially Chahal is a big blunder, as Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel, who are currently in the team, are similar spinners. If Chahal was included in the team, spin attack would have been diversity.
Harbhajan Singh raised questions on team selection
- Harbhajan Singh feels that India has made a big selection mistake by not choosing Yuzvendra Chahal in his team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The 15 -member team consists of Kuldeep Yadav, Akshar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja.
- The wrist spinner Chahal last bowled in a 50 -over format during the ODI series against New Zealand in January 2023. Bhajji says that Chahal should have been chosen to diversify the spin invasion.
- Bhajji said, you have chosen four spinners, two of them are left handed. You could also include a leg spinner for diversity. Chahal is a great bowler. I do not know what he did wrong that he does not fit in this team.
- Chahal, 34, has played 72 ODIs in his career so far and has taken 121 wickets at an average of 27.13. His economy rate has been 5.26, while twice has managed to take five wickets.
- Chahal was last selected in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024, where the team also featured Akshar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. Then Chahal did not get a chance to play a single match.

Sanju Samson also advocated
Harbhajan Singh also advocated wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson. Said that Sanju is constantly scoring runs, is also fit in ODI format, yet he has been excluded from the team.
Bhajji said, I feel bad for Sanju as well. He scores runs, but is excluded. I know you can choose only 15 players, but I think Sanju’s batting is compatible with this form. His average is 55-56, but he is also not present as the second wicketkeeper in the team.
