Chief Advisor to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Avnish Kumar Awasthi and his delegation on Monday briefed the foreign media about various aspects of Mahakumbh 2025 and its cultural, spiritual and digital significance. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal was also present on the occasion. In a post on X, Randhir Jaiswal said that Mahakumbh – a confluence of spirituality and modern technology. Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Avnish Kumar Awasthi and his delegation today briefed the foreign media on various issues.

Devotees from across India and the world come to Prayagraj to take a holy dip and delve into spiritual practices and teachings during the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Maha Kumbh Mela started on 13 January and will continue till 26 February. More than 44 lakh devotees took the holy dip till 2 pm on Monday, the eighth day of the Kumbh Mela. As of January 20, more than 80 million pilgrims have taken a dip in Sangam Triveni during Mahakumbh 2025. Additionally, more than one million Kalpavasis have taken up spiritual retreat during the Maha Kumbh. According to official data released, more than 22 lakh pilgrims visited the fair till 8 am on Monday.

On January 19, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj and said that everyone is working with full commitment to implement the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Everyone is following the vision that the Prime Minister has implemented for Mahakumbh. The main baths took place at the time of Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti. I wandered around and tried to see what was going on in Kumbh.
