Voting is going on for 2025 assembly elections in Delhi on Wednesday. The main contest in Delhi is between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. A total of 699 candidates are in the fray for 70 assembly seats, counting of votes will be held on 8 February. This is the first election after AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Delhi Chief Minister after his arrest on corruption charges last year. Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, ‘AAP’ is trying to come to power for the third consecutive time on the strength of its welfare plans. On the other hand, the BJP is trying to form the government again in the capital after more than 25 years. The Congress, which ruled for 15 years in Delhi till 2013, is trying to return after failing to win a single seat in the last two assembly elections.

New Delhi:
Arvind Kejriwal vs Pravesh Verma vs Sandeep Dixit
Arvind Kejriwal, who is looking like a fight for reputation, is looking at the fourth consecutive victory in his stronghold New Delhi. The AAP chief, who has represented the constituency since 2013, has to face strict competition from the sons of BJP’s Parvesh Singh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dixit two former Chief Ministers. In 2020, Kejriwal won from this seat by 21,687 votes.
Jangpura:
Manish Sisodia vs Sardar Tarwinder Singh Marwah vs Farhad Suri
Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has changed his old seat to Jangpura. This seat was won by Praveen Kumar of AAP in both 2015 and 2020. He is against BJP’s Sardar Tarwinder Singh Marwah in a high-level contest and Farhad Suri of Congress.
Kalkaji:
Atishi vs Alka Lamba vs Ramesh Bidhuri
Kalkaji constituency is ready for a fierce triangular contest as AAP leader and CM Atishi compete with Congress firebrand leader Alka Lamba and former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. In 2020, Atishi won the seat by a margin of 11,393 votes against BJP’s Dharambir Singh.
Chhatarpur:
Brahma Singh Tanwar vs Kartar Singh Tanwar vs Rajendra Singh Tanwar
The election of Chhatarpur has turned into a ‘Battle of Tanwar’. Brahma Singh Tanwar of AAP is contesting against BJP’s Kartar Singh Tanwar and Congress’s Rajendra Singh Tanwar. Kartar Singh Tanwar, who won the seat on the AAP ticket in 2020, moved to the BJP last year and is now contesting as its candidate.
Malaviya Nagar:
Somnath Bharti vs Satish Upadhyay vs Jitendra Kumar Kochhar
Malviya Nagar remains an important battleground, where your legend Somnath Bharti is trying to extend the dominance of his three term. He competes with BJP’s Satish Upadhyay and Congress’s Jeetendra Kumar Kochhar, which will be closely monitored.
Patparganj
Patparganj constituency has been a stronghold of AAP as party veteran Manish Sisodia won here in the last three elections. However, this time due to Sisodia contesting from Jangpura, the party has made a teacher -turned -leader Awadh Ojha its candidate. Ojha competes with BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi and Congress candidate Anil Chaudhary. The Congress dominated here from 1998 to 2013 before the Aam Aadmi Party made Patparganj its stronghold.
Rohini
In Rohini, BJP has fielded two -time winner Vijender Gupta against AAP’s Pradeep Mittal. In the 2020 Delhi elections, Rohini seat Gupta won by a margin of 12,000 votes which are once again in the fray. Gupta’s victory in 2020 was of 12,000 votes, but he faced a tough challenge from AAP’s Pradeep Mittal. While the BJP is expecting to take advantage of the experience of Gupta, you are focusing on reducing the difference by enticing voters with your welfare initiatives and house-to-door campaigns.
Shakurbasti
In Shakurbasti, there will be a contest between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendra Jain and its Delhi Temple Cell (Temple Cell) chief BJP leader Karnail Singh. Jain has been emphasizing on the health and achievements related to the infrastructure achieved during his previous term. On the other hand, lions are trying to woo voters through cultural and religious appeal.
