Delhi fog: 9 trains, many flights delayed, IMD predicts rain and storm

There is no sign of relief from the cold in the national capital Delhi. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and storm on January 22. Meanwhile, due to fog in Delhi, nine trains and several flights were delayed at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday. By 8 am, the temperature in the national capital was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of the day is expected to be 11 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius.
 
The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy sky and light rain with thunderstorms in the evening and night. IMD said that on Wednesday morning, there is a possibility of fog or moderate fog at most places, and dense fog at some places. Meanwhile, according to news agency ANI, several flights were delayed due to fog at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to the news agency, at least 9 trains are running late at various stations in Delhi due to fog.

Additionally, the IMD said the predominant surface wind is likely to blow from the north with a speed of less than 6 kmph on Wednesday morning. The wind speed is likely to increase from north-east to 8 kmph in the afternoon, which will gradually decrease from north-west to less than 6 kmph by evening and night. Even during these hours, light fog is expected to persist over Delhi. According to ‘Sameer App’, till 8 am the air quality index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded at 262, while it was 305 in Anand Vihar, 278 in RK Puram and 248 in Najafgarh.
