Not only Indians but also foreign devotees are getting attracted towards Mahakumbh 2025. While the foreign devotees are stunned to see the crowd of devotees in Prayagraj, the arrangements made by the government in the Maha Kumbh have also won their hearts. Someone is praising Sanatan Dharma and someone is praising Modi Yogi government. Steve Jobs’s wife has also come to take bath in Mahakumbh. In Prayagraj, you will see people of foreign origin talking to saints and taking guidance from them in various Akharas. Not only this, there are some foreigners who were so influenced by Sanatan Dharma that they became saints. One of these names is Baba Mokshpuri, born in New Mexico, America, who attracted everyone’s attention with his presence at the holy confluence of Prayagraj. Michael, once a soldier in the American Army, has now become Baba Mokshpuri. He shared the story of his spiritual journey and connection with Sanatan Dharma.
Baba Mokshpuri says, “I too was once an ordinary person. I loved traveling and spending time with my family and wife. I also joined the army. But there came a time when I realized that nothing is permanent in life. That’s when I started this eternal journey in search of salvation.” Today he is associated with Juna Akhara and has dedicated his entire life to the propagation of Sanatan Dharma.

America-born Baba Mokshpuri visited India for the first time in the year 2000 with his family (wife and son). He says, “That trip was the most memorable event of my life. It was during this time that I learned meditation and yoga and understood about Sanatan Dharma for the first time. Indian culture and traditions deeply influenced me. This was the beginning of my spiritual awakening. Which I now consider to be a call from God.”
A big change came in the life of Baba Mokshpuri when his son died untimely. He said, “This tragic incident helped me understand that nothing is permanent in life. It was during this time that I took meditation and yoga as my refuge, which got me through this difficult time.”
After that Baba Mokshpuri devoted himself to yoga, meditation and the spiritual understanding gained from his experiences. He is now traveling around the world propagating Indian culture and the teachings of Sanatan Dharma. Since the Ujjain Kumbh in 2016, he has pledged to participate in every Maha Kumbh. He believes that such a grand tradition is possible only in India.
Baba Mokshpuri especially mentioned the influence of Neem Karoli Baba in his spiritual journey. He says, “The energy of meditation and devotion in the ashram of Neem Karoli Baba impressed me deeply. I felt there as if Baba was the incarnation of Lord Hanuman himself. This experience marked my commitment to devotion, meditation and yoga in my life. further strengthens.”
Deeply connected to the spiritual traditions of India, Baba Moksha Puri abandoned his Western lifestyle and chose the path of meditation and enlightenment. Now he is planning to open an ashram in New Mexico, from where he will propagate Indian philosophy and yoga.
