Muzaffarnagar. (Muzaffarnagar News) The BBA department of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar organized a special group discussion competition for the students, in which many contemporary and burning topics were discussed. This event was organized with the aim of enhancing the communication skills, logical thinking, and teamwork abilities of the students.
Launch of the main event
The program started with the worship of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of the lamp. The BBA department of the college made the occasion grand in which many important topics were discussed to boost the enthusiasm of the students. The main topics of discussion were:
- life without mobile
- Impact of artificial intelligence on the future
- reservation in job
- online education
- Climate change
- gender equality
- cashless society
Process and format of competition
The competition was conducted in three phases:
- first stage: The students were divided into groups, each group consisting of ten students. A subject was allotted to each group through a special process. Students had in-depth and intelligent discussions on various topics. Based on this phase, three outstanding performing participants were selected from each group.
- second phase: In this stage the selected participants were divided into two groups. Each group discussed their topic in depth, resulting in an excellent exchange of ideas and facts.
- Third and final step: In the final stage, a total of eight participants discussed the topic ‘Life without mobile phones’. The jury selected the winners on the basis of their reasoning ability, presentation and communication skills.
Performance of the participants and role of the jury
The role of the jury in the program was played by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Head of the Management Department of Shri Ram College and Dr. Chitra Srivastava, Assistant Lecturer. He minutely evaluated the performance of the students and announced the winners.

- second place: Aarti Kumari, BBA second year student.
- third place: Ayush, first year BBA student.
- consolation prize: Sajan Kumar, BBA second year student.
Objective and message of the event
Chairman of Shri Ram College, Dr. S.C. Praising the event, Kulshrestha said, “This type of group discussion is the best medium to enhance the communication skills of the students. “Students should participate in such programs so that they can be successful in both professional and personal fields.”
Principal Dr. Prerna Mittal also described the program as inspiring and said, “Students not only gain knowledge from such programs but also increase their self-confidence.”
Views of students and management
During the program, Dr. Saurabh Mittal (Dean, Management Block) said, “It is very beneficial for the students to participate in such competitions. It not only removes their hesitation but also develops qualities like speaking skills, teamwork and logical thinking in them.”
Group discussion and other aspects of education
Such discussions not only provide students with an opportunity to reflect on current issues but also inspire them to develop solution-based thinking. Topics like online education, climate change, and artificial intelligence are highly relevant to the future of students.
