The National Investigation Agency had registered a case against Jamir after he was stopped at the Delhi airport on December 17, 2019, with around ₹72 in cash before boarding a flight to Dimapur. The agency said it was unable to pinpoint the source of the recovered cash and the information has been sent to the Income Tax Department for investigation.
