Kash Patel will appear before the Senate committee on January 30 for the confirmation hearing on his name as the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US.
Patel, 44, is the highest-ranking Indian-American nominated in President Donald Trump’s administration. If his name is confirmed for this post, he will be the first Indian American to lead the most powerful American investigative agency.
The Senate Judiciary Committee announced Thursday that “the nomination of Kashyap Pramod Patel to be Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation” has been set for Jan. 30. Patel will replace Christopher Ray. Patel is considered a loyal supporter of Trump.
“I love dreaming for America,” Patel, a former federal prosecutor, said during Trump’s inauguration earlier this week. My story is very simple, it is unique and some of you are participants in it.
“My parents were born and raised in East Africa,” he said. My father left Uganda in the 1970s after the genocide and dictatorship that followed, where he witnessed the murder of 300,000 of his countrymen and the chaos that would ensue if the constitutional justice system was allowed to break down. Can do.” Patel said, “My name is Kash Patel and I am not going anywhere.
