Sports Desk, Indore. England’s young batsman Harry Brook has recently achieved a major upset by reaching the second position in the ICC men’s Test rankings. Brook played a brilliant inning of 171 runs in England’s impressive 8-wicket win against New Zealand, which took him up two places in the rankings.
After this brilliant performance, Brook has now overtaken India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal, whose rating has dropped slightly to fourth place.
Brook’s current rating is 854 points and he is now just 41 points behind former England captain Joe Root. Root, who was out for zero in the last Test match, remains at the first position in the Test rankings. However, Brook’s consistent innings and ability to perform under pressure have made him Root’s closest competitor.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s change in ranking
Meanwhile, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal, who recently achieved his career-best ranking, has now slipped to fourth place. He has 825 marks. England’s Ollie Pope and captain Ben Stokes have also strengthened their rankings.
Pope has moved up eight places to 32nd, while Ben Stokes has moved up seven places to 34th. This rise in the ranking of these England players shows their significant contribution to the team’s spectacular victory.
