Sports Desk, Indore. Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh performed brilliantly in the T20I match played against England. He has broken the record of leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Now he has become the highest wicket taker for India in T20 cricket in the shortest time.
Arshdeep achieved this feat by dismissing England batsman Ben Duckett. After this achievement, Arshdeep also apologized to Chahal in a humorous manner.
Arshdeep Singh’s great record
- Arshdeep Singh broke Yuzvendra Chahal’s record of taking 96 wickets by taking his 97th wicket against England. Arshdeep achieved the feat in just 61 innings since starting his international career in July 2022.
- BCCI put a video on Instagram, in which Arshdeep smilingly apologized to Chahal. He said that I am feeling very good. I am grateful that my hard work has paid off. I will try to continue taking wickets for the country.

- Arshdeep also praised his teammate Varun Chakraborty. He said that Varun takes wickets in the middle overs, which helps him to dismiss lower order batsmen in the death overs.
- Arshdeep said that Varun is bowling excellent these days, because it is very important to take wickets in the middle overs in T20I. If the batsmen are not out at that time, they may attack later, making it difficult to bowl in the death overs.
Varun Chakraborty’s brilliant performance
Varun Chakraborty also won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling in this match. He shook England’s batting order and took 3 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. Due to his bowling, the England team was reduced to 132 runs. Varun’s bowling gave the Indian team a great chance to win the match.

Team’s victory under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav
Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team chased the target of 132 runs against England. Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant inning of 79 runs in 34 balls helped India chase the target in 12.5 overs. The team won the match by seven wickets.
