A young couple on Monday allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in their rented house in Patrasa of Panki area of Kanpur. Police gave this information.
Panki’s Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shikhar said that Alkesh Sachan (25), who worked as a driver, and Saloni Sachan (24) had married just three years ago. The police have started investigating the case, but the police are yet to know the exact reasons behind the couple’s suicide as they have not left any suicide note.
Panki police station in-charge inspector (SHO) Manvendra Singh said that he had received information about the couple committing suicide on Monday morning. SHO said that after receiving the information, the police team reached the spot to investigate the matter, where the victim’s family members told the police that Alkesh and Saloni consumed sulfa around midnight after locking their room from inside.
Inspector in-charge said that the couple was taken out by breaking the door of the room and were admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital, where they died during treatment. Police investigation of the case is ongoing. Police are interrogating the families of both the deceased to find out the exact reason behind the incident.
