A massive fire broke out in the Sector 19 campsite area at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday evening after two to three gas cylinders exploded. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the fire site to assess the situation and review emergency response measures, officials said.

ADG Bhanu Bhaskar said, ‘We received information at 04:08 that there was a fire in Sector 19 due to a cylinder explosion. Within 3 minutes our Uttar Pradesh Police and Fire Service people reached the spot. Help from voluntary organizations was also taken and people were evacuated. The fire was brought under control after the site was evacuated. The fire was brought under control at 4:30.
