West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, expressing grief over the death of the people in the stampede at the Mahakumbh Mela of Prayagraj. Banerjee said on his X handle that his experience of organizing the annual Gangasagar fair in Bengal shows that maximum planning and care is required to handle huge events like Kumbh.

On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, many people were killed due to a stampede among pilgrims who arrived in a large number of pilgrims to bathe in the confluence area of Prayagraj Mahakumbh in the early hours of Wednesday.
