The Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of MLAs Naresh Balyan, Rohit alias Anna and Sachin Chikara till 24 February. Two other accused Vijay Gehlot and Sahil have also been sent to judicial custody after police interrogation. Earlier, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to release the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Naresh Balyan on custody parole.

Is contesting elections. However, Delhi Police, submitted by Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad, opposed the prayer citing Balian’s ability to influence witnesses. Prasad further said that the police have not yet completed their investigation against Balian.
After hearing the representation of Delhi Police, a bench of Justice Vikas Mahajan dismissed Balian’s petition. Earlier, on Tuesday, Balian’s lawyer MS Khan urged the court to release his client on custody parole, citing the order of the Supreme Court, who was contesting the Delhi election from Mustafabad on AIMIM ticket. After which the High Court asked Prasad to take instructions.
