The Supreme Court of the United States (US) dismissed the petition of Tahwwur Hussain Rana, convicted for his role in the Mumbai terror attacks, paved the way for his extradition to India. Reacting to this, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut said on Saturday that the time has come to bring Nirav Modi back to India. Nirav Modi is facing allegations of fraud and money laundering. He said that other fugitives including gangsters Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon should also be brought back.

Sanjay Raut said that this is a judicial process. Such judicial processes continue. Now Nirav Modi has to be brought, Dawood has to be brought, Tiger Memon has to be brought. The list is long. Hannan Mollah, a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau, welcomed the Supreme Court of the United States (USA) to allow extradition of the co-speculator in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Hannan Molla said that those criminals committed crime in India and they are living there. The Government of India has asked for his extradition. It is good that (American) Supreme Court has given permission. They will come and they will be prosecuted here. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Naresh MHSSCE said that it is a major victory for the Government of India to dismiss the petition of Tehwwur Hussain Rana by the Supreme Court. MHSSK told ANI that Tawwur Hussain Rana is the main accused in the 26/11 attack. The Indian government was trying to bring the accused back to India. This is a major victory for the Government of India. We will get more information to investigate the matter, once he comes back.

Pakistani -origin businessman Tawwur Hussain Rana, who was convicted for his role in 26/11 attacks on Mumbai, resulting in 164 people, who died, can now be extradited to India. Rana’s co-hostels included David Headley, among others. Headley accepted his defect and cooperated against Rana. On 21 January, the US Supreme Court rejected the Cartiari’s writ filed by Rana to prevent his extradition in India. The writ was filed in November 2024 against the earlier order of the lower court, which ruled in favor of his extradition in India. Cartiari Rit is a legal document that allows the High Court to review the case of the lower court.
