Pakistani woman Seema Haider’s first husband sought help from the Indian government to reunite her children.

Karachi. The first husband of Pakistani woman Seema Haider, who went to India illegally in 2023 with four children, has appealed to the government of the neighboring country to help her meet her children and keep them with her. Seema had come to India to live with her boyfriend, whom she met online. Seema (32) is a resident of Jacobabad in Sindh province and came to India via Nepal from her home in Karachi with her children in May 2023.
She came into limelight in July 2023 when Indian authorities found her living with Indian national Sachin Meena (27) in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Sachin claims that both of them have got married. Both of them came in contact in 2019 while playing the online game PUBG. Seema and Sachin were arrested in July 2023, but were later released on bail. Seema is accused of entering India illegally while Sachin was accused of harboring an illegal migrant. Seema’s first husband Ghulam Haider in a recent video message appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to get ‘justice’.
Haider claimed that he has been trying to regain custody of his children since late 2023 with the help of prominent Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist Ansar Burney. Burney confirmed in February last year that Haider had sought his help and hired an Indian lawyer to initiate legal proceedings in Indian courts. “After due process, we have engaged the services of an Indian lawyer, Ali Momin, and have sent the Vakalatnama to initiate legal proceedings in the Indian courts,” he said.
But it is not clear whether the case has started or not. Haider claimed in the video message, “It has been a year since the case is pending in the court and I have not seen my children since 2023.” I appeal to Jaishankar to provide justice.” Haider alleged that the children are stranded in India because of their mother. “She is forcibly trying to change his name and religion,” he claimed.
Haider was working in Saudi Arabia when Seema came to India via UAE and Nepal. In May 2023, all four of his children were below seven years of age. Seema had earlier said in an interview given to BBC that she had converted to Hinduism. He also refused to return to Pakistan. Seema claims that her children have also adopted Hindu religion. Seema recently released a post on Instagram saying that she is expecting a child with Sachin.
