Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai and offered prayers. Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, CM Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and BJP MP Hema Malini shared the stage with him. Along with this he addressed a program. He said that today in this great land of knowledge and devotion, due to the efforts of ISKCON, Sri Sri Radha Madanmohan Ji Temple is being inaugurated. I am fortunate that I have had the privilege of playing my role in such a supernatural ritual.

Modi said that I was just seeing that the outline of Shri Shri Radha Madanmohan Ji Temple Council, the idea behind this temple, its form, the entire tradition of spirituality and knowledge is visible in it. Various forms of God are seen in the temple. He said that I am confident that this temple complex will become a virtuous center to enrich the faith as well as the consciousness of India. I congratulate all the saints and members of ISKCON and the people of Maharashtra for this noble work.
Narendra Modi said that today on this occasion I am also emotionally remembering the most revered Gopalkrishna Goswami Maharaj. His vision is integrated into this project. The blessings are attached to his immense devotion towards Lord Krishna. Today he may not be here physically, but we all are feeling his spiritual presence. He said that the followers of ISKCON spread all over the world are bound by the thread of devotion to Lord Krishna. There is another sutra that keeps them all connected to each other, which keeps showing direction to every devotee round the clock. This is the sutra of Srila Prabhupada Swami’s thoughts.
The Prime Minister said that he promoted the importance of Vedas, Vedanta and Geeta at a time when the country was in the shackles of slavery. He performed the ritual of connecting Bhakti Vedanta with the consciousness of the common people. He said that today crores of people in every corner of the world are getting the blessings of his penance. Srila Prabhupada Swami’s activism, his efforts inspire us even today. He said that India is not just a piece of land bounded by geographical boundaries. India is a vibrant land, a vibrant culture. And, this is the consciousness of this culture – the spirituality here! Therefore, if we want to understand India, we have to first assimilate spirituality.

Modi said that those who see the world only in physical terms, also see India as a collection of different languages and provinces. But when you connect your soul with this cultural consciousness, then you see the vast form of India.
