President Draupadi Murmu addressed the nation on the eve of the 76th Republic Day. At the beginning of the address, the President greeted the countrymen on Republic Day. He said that today we should first remember those brave souls who made great sacrifice to free the motherland from the shackles of foreign rule. He said that this year we are celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, who stands as a representative of the freedom fighters, whose role in the national history is now being recognized in its right proportion.

The President said that in the early decades of the twentieth century, their struggles consolidated into an organized nationwide independence movement. It was the country’s good fortune to have people like Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore and Babasaheb Ambedkar, who helped rediscover its democratic ethos. Justice, liberty, equality and fraternity are not theoretical concepts that we have learned in modern times; They have always been a part of our civilizational heritage.

India, one of the oldest civilizations, was once known as a source of knowledge and wisdom. He said that 75 years of the Constitution is marked by the all-round progress of a young republic. At the time of independence and even after, large parts of the country faced extreme poverty and hunger. But one thing we were not deprived of was our belief in ourselves. We set out to create the right conditions where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Draupadi Murmu said that our farmers worked hard and made our country self-reliant in food production. Our workers worked tirelessly to transform our infrastructure and manufacturing sector. Thanks to their outstanding efforts, India’s economy today influences global economic trends. Today India is playing a leading role in international forums. He said that today India is leading the world. This change would not have been possible without the blueprint laid down by our Constitution. He said that the Constitution has become a living document, as civic values have been a part of our moral values for millennia.

He said that pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, national fellowships, foreign scholarships, hostels and coaching facilities are being provided for the youth of SC communities. Pradhan Mantri Scheduled Caste Abhyudaya Yojana is making progress in reducing poverty among Scheduled Caste communities by adding employment and income generation opportunities. President Draupadi Murmu, in his address to the nation, said that bold and visionary economic reforms will maintain this trend in the years to come. The Constitution provides the ultimate foundation of our collective identity as Indians, it binds us together as a family.
President Draupadi Murmu said that the ongoing Maha Kumbh can be seen as an expression of the richness of that heritage. There are many exciting initiatives underway in the field of culture to preserve and revive our traditions and customs. India is a center of great linguistic diversity. To preserve as well as celebrate this richness, the government has recognized Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, Pali and Prakrit as classical languages. This category already includes Tamil, Sanskrit, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Oriya. The government is now actively promoting research in 11 classical languages.
He said that we got independence in 1947, but many remnants of colonial mentality remained present among us for a long time. Recently, we are seeing concerted efforts to change that mindset. The most notable of such efforts was the decision to replace the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act with the Indian Judicial Code, the Indian Civil Defense Code and the Indian Evidence Act. Based on Indian traditions of jurisprudence, the new criminal laws place the delivery of justice rather than punishment at the center of the criminal justice system. Furthermore, the new laws give top priority to combating crimes against women and children.
