This date remains the subject of heated debate over the circumstances surrounding Bose’s demise, with some believing that he survived the air crash on the said date and was even seen by others. Union minister and BJP MP Sukant Majumdar criticized Gandhi for the post and called the mention of the date insulting.
Majumdar said on Twitter: “I strongly oppose the claim that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose died on August 18, 1945, as stated in the social media post by Rahul Gandhi! I also demand that Rahul Gandhi apologize within the next 24 hours for showing disrespect to Netaji, who was the first Prime Minister of India. I am appealing to all the followers of Netaji to raise their voice by sharing this demand. Shame on Congress!
