Telecom companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel launched phone-only talk and SMS plans for prepaid customers in India. The move assumes significance as the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) last month amended tariff rules directing mobile service providers to issue separate plans for voice calls and SMS for consumers who are not eligible for the same. No data i.e. internet is required.
What are the plans of Airtel: Airtel has introduced a new plan of Rs 499, which will provide unlimited voice calls, 900 SMS and validity of 84 days. Another offer is a plan worth Rs 1,959. In this, prepaid users will be provided unlimited voice calls, 3,600 SMS and validity of 365 days.
Jio’s two plans: According to the information given on Jio’s website, the Rs 458 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 1,000 SMS with a validity of 84 days. The Rs 1,958 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMS with a validity of 365 days.
