Six members of a family died when firecrackers kept inside their house exploded in a village in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Saturday. The dead include four women and a minor child. Police gave this information.
The incident took place in Faliya, Mandi Bahauddin, about 250 kilometers from Lahore. The fireworks material kept in the house caught fire and exploded. Police said that seven members of this family, who earn their living by making fireworks, were injured.
Rescue officials reached the spot and took the injured to a local hospital, where the condition of three of the seven is said to be critical. Police said, the firecrackers kept in the house exploded on Saturday morning, due to which the roof of the house collapsed. Six members of the family (including four women and a minor child) died. Their bodies have been taken out from the debris. Seven others (mostly men) were seriously injured and taken to hospital.
