Reason for Bumrah’s injury
Bumrah’s performance in the Australia tour was excellent, but his injury in the interval increased India’s problems. Bumrah could not bowl during the Sydney Test due to back pain. According to experts, Bumrah’s injury was caused by bowling more than 150 overs during the series. The pressure on his back had increased.
Bumrah’s injury will affect India’s upcoming series. The BCCI medical team is busy assessing the level of Bumrah’s injury, so that he is fully prepared for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. What is the seriousness of the injury?
The severity of Bumrah’s back pain is not yet known, but doctors believe that if the injury is of Grade 1, then Bumrah may get rest for two to three weeks. If it is a Grade 2 injury, Bumrah may need rest for six weeks. In the most serious case, i.e. Grade 3 injury, Bumrah may have to rest for three months.
The BCCI is taking steps to ensure that Bumrah is fully fit for the Champions Trophy. According to reports, Bumrah may be rested in the upcoming series against England. India will play five T20 and three ODI matches against England from January 22 and only after Bumrah’s fitness test, it will be decided whether he will be a part of this series or not.
