Trump warns BRICS countries against the use of another currency instead of US dollars

Washington. US President Donald Trump has once again warned that if the BRICS countries try to use another currency instead of US dollars in international trade, he will levy 100 percent fee on them. Trump said that the BRICS country should find “another foolish country”. The US President said in a post on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’, “BRICS Try to move away from the country dollars and we just keep looking and keep watching, the days of such thoughts are over.”
He said that he wants to commit a commitment to BRICS countries that he will neither create a new BRICS currency nor support any other currency instead of US dollars. Trump said, “Otherwise, they will have to face 100 percent fee or expect to say goodbye to sales in a magnificent American economy.” He threatened, “He (BRICS Desh) is another fool Countries can find. There is no possibility that BRICS will replace US dollars in international trade or elsewhere. However, whatever country will try to do so, he should say the fee and say goodbye to the US.
Trump has repeatedly criticized any step by BRICS member countries to issue his currency and is his strongest opposition ever. In December too, Trump warned the BRICS countries against such a step. BRICS is an inter -governmental organization of ten countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
The BRICS formed in 2009 is the only major international group with which America is not part. Over the years, some of its member countries, especially Russia and China, have been demanding a US dollar option or BRICS currency. India, an important column of BRICS, has said that it is against ‘de-dollars’ (a significant decrease in dollar use in world trade and financial transactions). Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had said in December that India has never been in favor of ‘de-dollars’ and there is no proposal to make BRICS currency.
