Bengaluru. Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot emphasized the need to have faith in the Constitution as well as cooperative federalism. Gehlot, in his speech on the occasion of Republic Day, referred to the Indian Constitution and the need for its safety, saying that whenever an agreement was signed in the constitution with the principles of federalism, the Karnataka government raised its voice. He said that the Constitution declares India as the Union of the States in its first article. Gehlot said that the Constitution divides sovereign power between the Union and the states.
Addressing the people of the state from Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground, the Governor said, “The Karnataka government is fully committed to maintaining the tradition of Sangh’s principles and has contributed to the development of the country according to the ideals of the Constitution.” ‘He emphasized that the real strength of the Indian Republic lies in unity in diversity, the circumstances of democratic institutions and unwavering commitment to the values inherent in the constitution.
