Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday stressed the vital role of independent institutions in protecting the integrity of governance and stressed that the country’s progress depends on overcoming fragmentation and promoting unity across all sectors. He called for increased political dialogue and deliberations and said that all those in seats of governance, at all levels, should increase dialogue, believe in consensus and always be open to deliberations. We are a country where different ideologies are destined to rule. Why not? This is inclusivity manifested in our society. He warned that if politics is polarized, highly divisive and no communication channel is working. So it may have a detrimental effect on national governance.
The Vice President further said that the country is debating, and the debate will show something positive regarding the elections. But, my emphasis will be on the fact that we should work above party interests. He also highlighted the need to ensure that Public Service Commissions (PSCs) remain effective and transparent and stressed the importance of using technological advancements to improve public service processes.
