The incident took place in South Dinajpur district of North Bengal where illegal migrants secretly entered India. A BSF jawan was injured when the Bangladeshi citizens tried to snatch his gun. Seeing the situation out of control, BSF jawans opened fire in self -defense, forcing the attackers to escape. Bangladeshi crooks managed to escape due to reduced visibility due to dense fog. However, an injured Bangladeshi migrant was found during the search operation. The BSF immediately rushed him to Gangarampur Hospital for treatment. BSF also recovered knives, sticks and a wire cutter. According to officials, the injured BSF jawan has also received medical assistance and is out of danger.
